Employment Services
CLA helps individuals find and develop career opportunities in areas that interest them. Jobs are very important to increase our sense of independence and responsibility. It allows us the ability to earn money, interact with others in the community, get out of the home and develop social skills.
Our Employment Consultant will assist each individual in developing short and long-term career plans based on what is discovered through an assessment called an Individual Marketing Profile (IMP). The IMP will assist in defining the job seekers interests, preferred working environment, schedule, skills, etc. The Employment Consultant fully prepares the job seeker for interviewing through training and practice and helps him/her create a professional resume and fill out applications.
Once an individual gets a job, the Employment Consultant assists him or her in learning his or her new job duties and then follows up on a consistent basis to help in the development of natural support networks at the jobsite and to be the liaison between the employer and employee.
